Preamble – Our Vision

At Meet People, we believe in the power of human connections.

Our mission is to make the world more accessible, open, and connected, by enabling everyone to discover a culture through those who live it daily.

We advocate for an inclusive vision, where every individual, traveler and guide alike, has their place, regardless of their origins, background, or culture.

Meet People is above all a community. A community founded on trust, respect, authenticity, and sharing.

These General Terms of Use aim to frame this experience, ensuring it remains secure, transparent, and enjoyable for everyone

1. Applicability of the General Terms

Any use of the Meet People platform implies full and complete acceptance of these Terms of Use.

Users acknowledge having read, understood, and accepted all provisions.

2. Definitions

  • Meet People : SAS registered with the Paris Trade and Companies Register under number 978 137 560, with its registered office at 18 rue Drouot, 75009 Paris.
  • Guide : person offering an experience via the platform.
  • Traveler : user booking an experience.
  • Platform : Meet People website and application.

3. Role of Meet People

Meet People acts exclusively as an intermediation platform between Guides and Travelers.

Meet People:

  • Never acts as the guide during activities,
  • Does not interfere with their execution,
  • Never replaces the Guide.

Each Guide is solely responsible for organizing and conducting their experience

4. Cumulative Acceptance of Terms

Upon making any reservation, the Traveler agrees to:

  • These Terms of Use,
  • As well as the Guide's specific conditions.

These conditions include, but are not limited to:

  • Safety rules,
  • Conditions of participation,
  • Image rights,
  • Liability for the activity.

5. Bookings

For Travelers

  • All bookings are subject to the Guide's approval.
  • A booking is only confirmed upon acceptance.

For Guides

  • The Guide agrees to provide the experience as described.
  • Excessive cancellations may result in removal from the app.

6. Payments

  • Payment is made in full at the time of booking.
  • Funds are held until the experience is completed.
  • Guides are paid monthly, after commission deductions.

Meet People acts as a payment intermediary on behalf of our guides.

7. Commission and Fees

  • Platform commission: 20%
  • Payment fees:
    • €2 (standard experience)
    • €5 (private group)

8. Guides' Tax and Social Obligations

Guides using the Meet People platform acknowledge that they operate their activity independently and under their sole responsibility.

To this end, each Guide agrees to:

  • Declaring all income received via the Meet People platform to the relevant authorities,
  • Complying with the tax, social, and administrative obligations applicable to their status (e.g., micro-entrepreneur, company, individual),
  • Ensuring their activity complies with current regulations.

The Guide is solely responsible for:

  • The payment of their social security contributions,
  • Their tax filings,
  • And any legal obligation related to their activity.

Meet People's Disclaimer of Liability
Meet People is in no way involved in the Guides' reporting obligations and cannot be held responsible in the event of:

  • Failure to declare income,
  • Undisclosed activity,
  • Fraud or failure to comply with legal obligations.

Meet People reserves the right to:

  • Suspend or delete a Guide's account in case of non-compliance with these obligations,
  • Request any necessary supporting documents (status, registration, etc.).

The Guide acknowledges that Meet People does not act as an employer, corporate officer, or tax representative

9. Qualifications and Authorizations

Guides declare they possess:

  • All skills,
  • Their qualifications,
  • And the necessary authorizations.

The Guide is solely responsible in case of a lack of qualification

10. Insurance

Each Guide must be covered by civil liability insurance appropriate for their activity.

This insurance is the only one that can be used in the event of a claim related to the experience.

11. Information Update

Guides must keep up to date:

  • Their insurance,
  • Licenses,
  • Authorizations.

Any changes must be reported immediately.

12. Traveler Participation Conditions

The Traveler declares:

  • Is physically and mentally fit,
  • Has read the conditions.

Inappropriate behavior may result in exclusion without a refund.

13. Risky Activities

Some experiences involve risks.

The Traveler participates:

  • Having full knowledge,
  • At their own risk.

14. Alcohol and Substances

The Traveler agrees to act responsibly.

Any consumption is at their sole risk.

15. Image Rights

During experiences, content (photos/videos) may be created.

By accepting the T&Cs, the Traveler authorizes:

  • Meet People,
  • And the Guide,

to use their image for communication purposes.

This authorization is:

  • Free,
  • Worldwide,
  • Without time limit.

16. Content Published by Guides

Guides are responsible for the content they publish.

Are strictly prohibited:

  • Illegal content,
  • Pornographic,
  • Discriminatory or hateful.

Meet People may:

  • Delete content,
  • Suspend an account,
  • Report to the authorities.

Meet People acts as a host

17. Information Quality

The information is provided by the Guides.

Guides are responsible for the information published.

18. Liability

Meet People acts as an intermediary.

Participation in experiences is the Guide's responsibility.

Meet People's liability is limited to the booking amount.

19. Cancellation and Refund Policy

  • +72h: full refund (excluding Stripe fees)
  • 24h–72h: 50% of the booking amount (excluding Stripe fees)
  • -24h: no refund

Guide Cancellation: full refund to the traveler
Exceptional cases: reviewed on a case-by-case basis. You can write to us at: contact@meetpe.fr

20. No Circumvention

It is forbidden to circumvent the platform to make bookings and arrange payments outside of Meet People.

Sanctions may be applied.

21. Code of Conduct

Guides

Meet People guides are required to adhere to a Code of Conduct to ensure an authentic and high-quality experience for travelers.

Quality Standards:

  • Demonstrateenthusiasm and passion in welcoming travelers.
  • Ensure a professional service and an experience consistent with the description provided.
  • Maintain a welcoming attitude and courteous with travelers.
  • Adhere to booking deadlines and schedules.


Authenticity:

Meet People travelers seek unique and local experiences. Guides must share authentic and exclusive moments with them that are not otherwise accessible.


Connection and interaction:

  • Build trust and encourage interaction with travelers.
  • Be open-minded and respectful of different cultures.
  • Be attentive to the needs of travelers (age, disability, specific conditions).
  • Maintain a courteous and respectful.
  • Avoid any language that is aggressive, discriminatory or abusive.
  • Do not solicit services outside the platform.

Travelers

  • • Be on time for appointments.
  • Adhere to cancellation and refund policies.

Meet People connects travelers with local guides for unique experiences. To ensure mutual respect, travelers must adhere to the following rules:

22. Exclusion

Meet People may suspend or delete an account for:

  • violation of the Terms of Use,
  • inappropriate behavior,
  • abuse,
  • Repeated negative reviews.

23. Guarantees

Meet People does not guarantee:

  • uninterrupted service,
  • the absence of errors.

24. Intellectual Property

All content belongs to Meet People.

Any reproduction is prohibited without authorization.

25. Disputes

Applicable law: French law.

26. Modification of the T&Cs

Meet People may modify the T&Cs at any time.

Our users must review them regularly.
